The Bras d’Or Lakes Scenic Drive circles the lake along shoreline roads that offer
an ever-changing panorama of woodlands, farms and villages, and are ideal for walking, hiking and birdwatching. The lakes are a unique combination of ocean and lake features, which dominate the center of Cape Breton Island.
With an area of approximately 1100 square kilometers, the extents of Bras d’Or Lake measures roughly 100 km in length and 50 km in width… surrounded almost entirely by high hills and low mountains- a sailor’s paradise !
